Rh Switch Block Clean For Better Start.

  1. IMG_1689.JPG Hi there, in an effort to remedy my ongoing start issues on my S4R, which would only do a tiny engagement of the starter before cutting out, I pulled the RH switchblock and dismantled carefully. The starter button contacts, which are a slide type, got cleaned with contact cleaner, fine sandpaper and then cleaned again.
I reassembled with some dialetic grease and voila!
I am not going to get too cocky, because this 16yr old bike has no trouble throwing another issue my way! But so far I have done,
    Replace mini relays
Remove and clean/replace all major plugs and ecu
    Spark plugs
Put in a relay to ease the load on starter circuit. Which seems to go through ecu with auto start thing.
Check and clean all batt cable connections.
Stand shaking head and clenching fists in frustration.
Quite a lot of bump starting

Thanfully, when the bike is running it is very fun to ride!:D
