Hi 748 and 916 owners, Having bought a brand new RHS, lower panel (££££) for the neglected 748, the new panel doesn't come with the black insulation pad that's stuck to the inside of the original panel (which appears to well stuck on). See photo below. I've been told this panel (possibly Part Nos: 48610441A) is no longer available? Has anyone come across this issue and is there anything I can use as a direct replacement? Interestingly, the part is shown in the parts diagram for the 1996 748 but not in the 2000 748? So, is it actually required or not? Grateful for any info/advice/solution/thoughts. TIA RR.
I only had the pads on my 998 when it was new but having purchased several 748 panels over the years none of them ever came with the sound-deadening pad. I am not even sure it makes any difference, I suppose you could use dynamat on the inside of the panel if you wanted some more sound deadening.
Thanx Red998, I prefer to keep the bike as original but guess its not always possible. As long as it doesn't affect the bike or melt the new panel I'll live with it!
