I had Rizomas on a Guzzi and took them off as they caused the barend mirror to slide but these look a bit different to the the type I had. Do they also have a a cap that covers the end of the top hat piece? These look like the rubber type. From the end of the bar to the center the parts would be barend (top hat looking piece), rubber, flat alloy washer with the flat piece on the rubber, then (if I'm right) the threaded cone piece and the cap screw through the center of them When you turn the cap screw the rubber is compressed and expands out gripping the bar Dunno if that helps or I've just muddied the water even further John
Hope these pics show what I mean better I under stand the bold and rubber spacer goes inside the bike handle then it expands but if you loom at the bar end the hole is quite big and needs to grip on something I just cannot work it out? Come in lads tell me I'm being thick here lo,
As you do up the bolt it squeezes the rubber onto the bar. That makes it tight then to put the cap on it...... I think
Wonder if your missing a piece. From the instructions it would appear that you need that alloy piece with the O Ring, shown in the instructions. You assemble the whole thing into the bar with the alloy piece you haven't shown on the outside of the bar i.e sticking out of the bar. The actual barend then slips over the alloy piece with the O Ring (which I imagine would be a tight fit) then is finally secured with the grub screw. Does that make any sense? Not saying I'm right but that's what it looks like to me John
That's what I was thinking john I have the I ring just not the alloy piece lol What I was think was screwing them on the the oem ones as then fit over then glueing the oem in so they cannot be just pulled out?
If it fits then you could, the obvious way is to contact whoever sold you them and tell them the piece is missing. You could also try a good will letter to Rizoma requesting the part, you never know. Failing all that an alloy spacer with a groove cut into it would do the job, which you could probably get made by anybody you know locally with a lathe it would be an easy job. You could re-post asking if there is anybody on here, just size it all up. There are folks on here who have done a lot of goodwill stuff for others for nowt or next nowt, all worth a try. There isn't anything like that piece in the kit made of say plastic, as they might have changed the material to make it cheaper? Unfortunately I don't have a lathe. That's about all I got John
