Has any one had dealings with this guy who sells Ducati starter cable upgrade kits at £24 through a website called mrnelectro? I bought one a week ago and have received nothing except an email receipt from PayPal. I think he sells on eBay also.
Yes, had a look - but it doesn't say anything regarding the upgrade other then thicker cables. I am currently having manufactured a cable system by a specialist manufacture to retail around £80 to £90 to compete with the American systems which cost around £120 to import. It will be interesting to see what you get for your money - fair play if he is providing 'good' quality sealed cables for that price though! If they are similar quality / crimp system as standard they will show the same issues in time.
I've tried calling his mobile and have emailed. I corresponded via email to see if they were still available and this was confirmed so I bought straight away from his website as asked. Hopefully there is a simple explanation but i'm off on a mammoth trip to southern Spain soon and am running out of time to get all sorted.
Yes He sold me a set around 2 years back, for my 1098 They are a ball ache to fit & look like they are made from speaker cable. They took a bit of bending and routing and the starter solenoid does not fit as snugly now as it did due to the cable getting in the way. All that said they do work and for the price (cost me £20) are pretty good value. Bike turns over a lot quicker with them fitted. I but these things of E-Bay as combined with Paypal, offer good customer protection. I've made about 4 or 5 complaints when stuff has not appeared and always got refunded. He never gave me a problem, bought them and they arrived about a week later.
