  1. Looking to replace my goretex suit and have been looking at Rukka, klim is also worth a look but dealers are thin

Can anyone recommend a dealer for Rukka cheapest so far £1400

  2. J&S Accessories sell Rukka gear

  3. Rukka kit is obscene money, ridiculous and way over priced.

You can get top end custom made leathers for that and just chuck a £30 wet suit over if it rains

  5. They were £250 more

  6. Good to hear about the price match. I've used Motolegends in the past and had a good experience. Good shop but pity about the ginger beardo blighting the recent catalogues.

  7. I'd not buy rukka again due to poor customer support from the uk-rukka side of the business when i decided within my 5-year 'no quibble guarantee' too get both Armas repaired from a motorcycle accident & they washed their proverbial hands even though i knew i'd have to pay for the repaired patches.

  8. Not many other options around if you want Pro Shell. I think Dainese and Revit might have 1 or 2 options. Everything else is trad 3 layer or the sewn-in lining which doesn't help with sodden jacket syndrome.

  9. Laminate works well too - my Klim jacket doesn't soak anything up at all - that's the Overland which is 2 layer laminate. Been bone dry and I ride every day in all weathers. The jacket is completely dry to the touch by the time I walk from the car park to my desk at work, just sheds it right off. The laminate is directly bonded to the outer shell, not like a liner type - I know exactly what you mean with those, my older jacket while completely waterproof would be soaked through all day and still be wet on the ride home, heavy and cold.

They have several other jackets with Pro-Shell too if that's what you fancy. Badlands Pro for example - Klim Badlands Pro Jacket - good price too!
Dealers are a bit few and far between though like said, Adventure Spec and Adventure Bike Warehouse are the only two I could find. Dealt with Adventure Spec and had excellent support (one of the pieces of armour arrived with a split in it and they sent me another the next day). Sizing is fairly generous to allow multiple layers underneath.
Bare in mind it's a layering system, there is no insulation in the jackets, both a plus and minus I guess. Winter (and I mean proper winter, not end of the summer when most are putting their bikes away :) ) it's great to be able to just chuck the jacket over the top of a fleece and base layer - or when it gets really cold put my heated vest on. The jacket being windproof means you get all the heat staying put inside. Summer, its equally decent with the vents open and I don't have to worry about being caught out in a shower.

Only negative I could say is the trousers are a bit odd on the sizing, while the waist is perfect the knee armour isn't brilliantly placed when you are not on the bike (which is the time you need it - when you come off!) as it sits a bit low even at full adjustment.

Rukka I wouldn't touch again, based on owning a pair of their gloves, they wore very badly indeed. Finger tip grips came off after only a few weeks, material was terrible as it caught on the velcro wrist straps constantly leaving them looking knackered within a month or so too.

  10. I'm tempted to try Halvarssons instead of Rukka. Had the Amazonas in mind.
