V4 Running In Service

  1. Quick question: is £250 the norm for a Panigale running in service? Seems a bit steep.

Also just read in the book that it still needs a 7000rpm limit for a further 900 miles :triumph:
What am I gonna do until then - just pose on it? That's not why I bought a Paniga...oh wait

  2. I’ve alwys ensured the first service is FOC, it’s the least they can do when buying a new bike, especially if you’re paying anywhere near RRP.

  3. I’ll let you have 8000rpm if you show me your balls.

  4. True, but at the time for the V4 orders I think it was a, if you want it, pay. Which I get, even though that has changed somewhat.

:joy: tempting. But come on its 50% of the range so cant be too lightspeed

  5. I paid £250 for mine and thought it was a bit expensive but it seems to be the norm.

With the revs I’d have thought it’s ok to build them up more over the 900 miles, but don’t go from 6-7k rpm to bouncing it off the limiter, I’m increasing mine gradually.

  6. That's my thoughts. I'm at 800 miles and going to 8k rpm adding about 1k rpm per 100 miles. So the rev limit is the first one or two digits of the odometer reading. My tiny brain can cope with that, so on that basis I'll get to the 14k redline at about 1400 miles which for me is near enough to the 1600 mile recommended running in distance.

  7. Cut the shit out of it, hardly going to blow up.....oh they go on fire, silly me

  8. I pay somewhere between £160 and £200 for my 1299’s servicing yearly
