  1. Has anyone put two sat navs on their bike ?

Why can’t I have two sat navs. At work I have two computer screens so why can’t I have two sat nav screens ?

it’s not fair, I want two sat nav screens

  2. No reason why not, but can’t see any benefit. Unless you want one zoomed in and one with a wider field of view? Seems a bit pointless.

  3. I was running my Garmin XT as well as my phone running the beta version of MRA Nav Next on a trip to Germany in 2023. Wanted to run them side by side to see if the MRA offering was as good if not better than the Garmin. MRA Nav Next beta changed to full release whilst I was away. Gamin was sold on my return, enough said.

  4. jokes aside about it not being fair :D

I could have one screen doing the route to tonight’s hotel.

The other could be used for some of the other functions, weather radar, distance and useful info like petrol stations even topographic info.

Scrolling through menus while looking for all that, whilst on the move might be OK in the US interstate with no corners for 100 miles - but on a busy European motorway - doing 80 mph legally - I find that sketchy to be looking at the nav and scrolling through menus.

Yesterday, entering Austria, some heavy rain squalls swept through. I would have had the weather app on one screen and kept an eye on the rain, then just pulled in and wait for it to sweep through, instead of being out in it.

Things like that really. I might look into it.

  5. I might have to look into it, thanks.

The issue is that it is not really safe to be scrolling through menus on a Sat nav, in Europe where speeds can be quick, and then very quickly back up when there is an issue and everyone is being slowed down.

On this basis some very useful sat nav functionality is being wasted.

  6. Completely depends on how you use a sat nave really. I tend not to fiddle with the route on the move if at all possible. Had to do that more with the Garmin whereas MRA Nav Next tends to stick to the plan.

  7. And really it is only on these longer trips where I am spending all day on the bike , for days at a time, that I would like more information.

When I see camper van drivers have huge iPad screens at their disposal, as they pootle along. And am doing 90 mph trying to work with a four inch screen, using gloves - wet ones in some cases !

The current bike has actual handlebars, so there is probably room for two sat nav screens- but that might not be the case with another bike……

    Anyway, just a thought.
