Save yourself £'s buying/making a alt.case puller... :)

  1. Saw a handy tip on .ms earlier, thought I'd share it - is one of those blindingly obvious "Oh yeah!" solutions...

Remove all the alt cover bolts including the one under the slave, gear lever off etc...

    Bolt the slave back on.

Pull the clutch in a few times, the clutch plate spring pressure will *poik* the cover off! :upyeah:

  2. In all my years of owning Ducatis I've never had to use a puller to remove the L/H cover! Still, if I did then that's a great tip!

  3. Maybe too off-centre to work properly? But a crankcase puller is only a piece of drilled plate and a bolt so hardly a great expense, especially if you can make one.

  4. Havnt tried it as such so I couldnt say? The first time my case came off I needed a puller, the second time it came straight off lol

  5. It does work but not quite as straight forward as poiking off the cover

  6. Be careful, I was a bit heavy handed when I tried that (although I now cant remember whether I had left a bolt in) however I squeezed the clutch lever so hard, I snapped the clutch pushrod as the cover was so stubborn (or it could have been the bolt still holding the cover on  )

  7. Seen an old brake pad drilled and usedmas a puller
