Hi being short in the leg as a result of only being 5 feet 6 inches short(blame my parents) I have great difficulty in getting both feet flat on the floor whilst riding my 998. I'm constantly aware of the various camber angles on the road when coming to a stop and its affecting my confidence in riding the bike. Are there any mods etc(please don't suggest platform shoes) that can be carried out to lower the seat height without making the overall appearance look ridiculous?....thanks
Lower the ride height, might affect handling a little but hopefully not too much if done at both ends?
Yeah, It's an ass-up head down type of bike which doesnt help here. As Dukedesmo suggested your ride height is one of the best approaches.. unless perhaps some aftermarket seats may help, but not much if they did. I did'nt ever adjust my 998 rideheight, but hear it can really affect the behavior of the ride so best to make sure you have factory settings to restore if you do adjust.
Im 5' 7" so not much taller, on my 996 I cant get both feet flat on the ground. When coming to a stop its a case of left foot flat on the ground, right foot on peg and brake with arse shifted to LH side if that makes sense.
