Just won a new to me seat on fleabay for the track bike that i want to get recovered asap. two things 1. who can do a good job and what will it cost me? 2. what should i get it covered in that is grippy and hard wearing? cheers
Most decent shops will have a range of fabrics, When I had mine remade, I asked the upholsterer supply different samples so that I could choose prior to the work being done. I settled on vinyl as I want the seat to be totally waterproof. They did put in a different type of vinyl (embossed) to give grip on a central section as shown (sorry pic is not ideal). Also think about seat height as reducing the width can make reaching the ground easier, or maybe you ride longer distance and want a gel pad for comfort without adding height? You can also get all kinds of piping added to get more colours and Ducati embroidered into the fabric but this again may affect how waterproof it is. I'm very happy with how mine ended up.
No idea if they are any good or indeed if they do motorbike seats but it’s worth a call http://www.ajtrimming.co.uk/contact.php
