I have on my 848 a Superpole seat which is very good but on my 748 its the original one which is a bit slippery, i know i could get it covered in a non slip material but I'm not after doing that as i want to keep it original and would sooner get another seat did they ever make an equivalent seat for the 748 range same as a Superpole one.
I have just bought some Alcantara and wrapped around and finished with sliding back at start. Only 10 euro and you can always go back to original.
What a nice alternative move,compared to a new price for £246. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ducati-T...437119?hash=item3d9f871cbf:g:SdAAAOSwo0JWPjwR
I thought these were like proverbial rocking horse to find - all things considered that’s not such a bad price for a new rare item (even with the PVT markup tax).
Alcantara covering is very good, unless you get it wet or do lots of miles. I have worn out 2 or 3 alcantara covers in the 40,000 miles on my SPS, but it gets wet (at the TT) almost every year. I got a new genuine original seat a few years ago from MR at a price much less than the one listed above. I also have the old base which will need new foam and covering if I decide to switch to non-slip again.
It takes 30 min to mount, shoot it on with an airstabler, see YouTube ,drive some days, then take it off on one side and tightend it if it’s loose and it’s done. I bought item 372906748048 1/2 meter Black Suede Suedette Luxury Quality Alcantara Style Enough for 3 seats.
The one Linked above at Pro twins is like others ive seen which are only for single seat units and not suitable for my 748 bip, I've just had a quick look on ebay and cant find Tecnosel material as i could get my seat covered,
