Sellers Regret

  1. i know a few on here have suffered this, sold my 1198 no problem but my rvf I took the adverts off wheeled it into the garden put it on the stand fired it up and just looked at it and felt physically sick at the thought of it going, no deposit taken, rang the guy who wants it and explained I’m struggling letting it go, it’s stunning, I feel rubbish and weak but when it’s gone it’s gone forever, the money would be handy but hey we just work harder...the guy is understanding ( a good sign) just let him know when I decide...any thoughts? Other than I’m weak as I know that

  6. Exactly my point

  7. You cannot be trusted not to sell it.

I will look after it for you so that you will never have to be parted from it.

    You're welcome!

  8. Put it up for sale at a stupid (Sheffield) price then it either won't sell or you'll get enough to ease the pain.

  10. Don’t sell it. Your regret will be 10 x worse than you feel now.

  11. Sell it as you have committed the cardinal sin of side stand down on a paddock stand therefore making it look shit.

  12. Take it you've had the RVF a long time? Its very nice by the way,
I regret selling a few but don't loose sleep over it but im not a one for keeping a bike for a very long time, 916 is the main one regret selling, Took some very hard earned dosh to manage to get my hands on it (wasn't easy) and was the first bike I bought after a very messy divorce

  13. Funny. If fella had have messed you about, he'd be labelled a messer and kicked off pages of tirade by the usual bandwagon jumpers on here!!

  14. As the saying goes, only regret the things you didn't do, not those you did.

It's only a bike. The next one might put a bigger grin on your face.

  16. Ok after a chat with a mate who has used it a bit I’m taking it to his and he is taking responsibility for selling it at more money, it’s simply better than most others, it’s as good inside as out

I never took a deposit and wasn’t offered one at the time of viewing, and after the fella looked at it he made no contact for 24 hours and even as recently as today looking into others, he was giving £4750 with no mot ...I turned down 6k last year I think it wants to be more money so that’s what’s happening, everything has a price, I’ll get it tested and go from there...I think the 1198 was a total bargain but had no attachment to it and possibly been better putting it up at £7995 maybe a better reflection of condition of that bike I’ll never know, but things can be advertised too cheap and it’s off putting, can always take bids lower.

  17. The next one is inbound :) you’ll all love it :joy:

  19. So You’ve had the bike for sale for ages, you finally find a buyer and agree a price and delivery, now a mate says it’s worth more, so you renege on the deal.

  20. No, I think the bike is a cut above, I’m not comfortable on the price, the price I’m comfortable with is the price it goes for, I made a mistake, everybody else is looking after there own interests ie the potential buyer still looking this morning, I have earned £0 this last 5 days, I am looking after me, I help out a lot of people financially on jobs, ie price I’m entitled to look after me this time, I did it wrong on this bike, if but you know what I have kept the guy informed by phone of my doubt earlier then I called him to tell him what I intend to do, plus more conversations have been going on that all pointed to me not been 100% into doing it on his terms ie paddock stand, free delivery, money off the ask, leaving without any commitment not looking at any paperwork etc etc.....basically I was left thinking not interested, then 24 hours later anyway
