Just had a service at OYB and bike has done 7900 miles, all fine and happy with there work but I noticed no air filter had been changed, is this correct, do they last longer than this or have they forgotten it? Thanks.
There is maintenance schedule toward the back of the owner's manual. For the 2015+ models it specifies cleaning the air filter at 9,000 miles and replacement at 18,000 miles. I think the service intervals based on mileage for the 2010-2014 models are a bit lower at 8,000 miles for the minor service and 16,000 miles for the major (Desmo) service.
I would say that if they've just done an annual service then they wouldn't touch the air filter, the air filter is due a clean at 9k service. I would say it depends on what they have charged you for and to ask them what service was carried out
Inspection/clean at 9k and replace at 18k. You’d see a hike in labour over an annual if it had been done as the tank has to be removed.
