  1. so..last year there was a water leak from my meter in the road...water dribbling down the street for weeks. i informed severn trent a cpl of times over the course of a few wks...they sent a bloke to have a look...he put a plastic guard rail around the meter cover...blocking my drive..so anyway, i dismantled it and leant it against my privet..3 weeks later, another inspector comes out and has a sniff....few weeks later, retun home and a bloke if waist deep in a hole..fixed.

receive water for about £300 for 6 months..single bloke living in a semi detached house...i moaned, filled in a claim form and had the bill revised to a pathetic £250...anyway, unlike me, i rolled over and paid..(this is from a bloke who didnt fill in the census form etc etc)

now to the story..had another monstrous leak, this time on my side of the meter...due to my neck injury and not being able to use the upper right side of my body i hd to call a plumber who im matey with..he had to smash up the path and dig a 3ft hole to reveal the leak..he reckoned i was losing about 200 ltrs a day!!

Call to severn trent...weeks later the same inspector rocks up ( iwas expecting to pay for the repair)..but he said it was their responsibility..who am i to argue..

weeks later, repair blokes turned up and replaced the entire pipe..about 40ft of it...

i called severn trent again and they said they'd sne dme a revised bill etc etc...sooooo

last week received a bill for over £500 for 3 months water!! i went bonkers...called up the nice customer services woman who politely informed that as id already received one rebate i wasnt entitled to another...i wasnt having any of it..so i was put on hold for 10 minutes....i got the same reply, but they'd look into it..i gave her the story about my spinal injury and told i was going in for my operation on the 30th and i didnt need this crap. i advised her that i had been off work for 7 months and was receiving SSP and that my dad was helping me pay my mortgage out his pension (all true and verifiable) i said i was a single bloke blah blah and not to bother sending me a form or anything other than a heavily revised bill in the next 7 days OR a court summons as i wasnt going to pay...oh, and i hope that this call is being recorded for quality and training purposes.

i said i would rather spend 3 months in prison, and when i turned up in court, it would be with a drain poking out of the 5 inch cut across my throat with a neck collar on and a raft of medical documentation, with (hopefully) the local press in attendance and calls made to the local radio and everyone else who thinks that a cat stuck up a tree is news...

so anyway, today i received my new bill....

the charge has been totally cancelled AND ive received nearly £250 credit on my account!! hurrah!!

that means that the copy of Blacks Legal Dictionary that i purchased from Amazon last week was actually free!

    'Stick it to da man'...

  9. check this!!

i opened the post this morning and had 2 letter from Severn Trent.. i thought 'here we go'..(luckily i'd kept my previous paperwork as proof in case things turned sour)..

i opened the first letter that said if i was unhappy with the water leakage allownace they were happy to discuss how X, Y and Z etc etc

next letter..was a bleedin cheque for £213.21!1 a refund...so it looks like ive had the bill dropped AND been given doh back..

how often does this happen?? like never, is how often..right..down the bank and pay this fkr in before they notice that theyve looked after me.
