Shock & Forks Refresh.

  1. should this be done on use/mileage basis or time scale? And roughly what should it be? Ta for any input.

  2. The service interval for fork oil replacement is every 24,000 km (15,000 miles) I usually change mine every 3rd winter, about 22,miles in my case.
There is no service schedule for the rear shock but getting it overhauled by a suspension specialist every 20,000 miles or so wouldn't be a bad thing.

  3. If it's for your track bike, forks at the end of the season every two years. With rear shock I guess it would depend on the type of damping. I plan to get my 748RS Ohlins re gassed probably after three seasons unless I notice any deterioration in damping. Andy

  4. Hijack..
Need to get my 1098R forks and shock re sprung and set up to suit my waif like 10 stone (previous owner was 15.5 stone so the suspension is shocking...)
Forks are FG353 off a D16RR, shock is standard TTX...was thinking of KTech or do they just do their own stuff?
(My 749R has KTech internals and is sublime.)

  5. K-Tech will re-fresh any make of shock, they are very good, but get your stuff done now and not at the beginning of the racing season as they get busy.
