BMW HAS issued a recall - or 'technical campaign' as bike makers prefer to call them Technical Campaign :Hilarious: vorsprung durch fuckwits
To be fair Paul they are complaining about the neutral light coming on (from a glimmer to full on) with the low fuel or high beam indication.
Note MTS1200s technical! Notice 666! Ohlins forks could fail... And a complete lack of support on here for yours truly. A year is a long time to be known as a gorilla!
As a precaution apparently.... ...right at the start of Spring... BMW 'invites' 300,000 potential customers, sorry I mean 'owners', to visit their local dealership to have the wheel flange on their deposit changed...... (I've seen the pics of the cracked lugs.... not good!!)
Check out the Ohlins fork failure...that's at the front of the bike! When that fails the front wheel will only be held on one side. Slights load (bump or braking) it rotates 90°...and over you go.
Faults in bikes from 2003 till 2011. I wonder how many Ducati are on the still on the road from that era....
Yes definitely a design error, but someone is annoyed, perhaps the Black Rat was a BMW designer prior to being a Black Rat - a shit one at that
300,000? Pah! Toyota recalled 9 million cars a few years ago, at an estimated cost of £3 billion! Anyone can have an off day...
Blimey you sure Thought no other bike was as bad as the multi or the flaking paint or the electrics Well there we go beat me down with a stick
Bloody hell...I've just been out on my 09 K1300GT...and I'll be out on it tomorrow....and probably Sunday too... What a nightmare...I'm worried sick....:Meh:
Ouch! And after the massive "don't ride your R1200RT" problems from last year. That must be denting their 2 wheel profits.
