Hi all, my mobile contract is up in a month or so, and after paying £40-£50 per month for God knows how many years, I think I've finally seen the light & come to my senses ! ...a sim only deal I currently have an IPhone 6, which I'm happy with, my plan is to keep the phone at the end of my contract & just go for a sim only deal, I paid the £8.99 charge to unlock my phone today, which activates in roughly 10 days apparently, so I'll be free to put in what ever providers sim I wish After doing a bit of research the last hour or so, it seems giff gaff are coming up with the best sim only deal, anyone out there currently using giff gaff ? Cheers Steve
I had giffgaff for a year. It's not worth the saving. Go for O2 or EE and pay the extra £5 a month or whatever. Giffgaff is slow and spotty and doesn't give you everything places like O2 give you - for example roaming in Europe for £2 a day or whatever it is.
I'm on Virgin mobile SIM only. Great coverag. For £15 a month I get unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and 2GB of data. Perfect for me.
I too am a virgin user, if you see what I mean... For nineteen quid I get all I need plus an iphone 5S Suits me
EE loads of minutes and texts etc 16gb data £23 Got bored of using 2gb just turning my phone on (well not literally but you get the picture! ).
I've been using giffgaff for a few years now. Love it. I've never experienced a problem with coverage (it's sourced from O2 so can't see why there would be any difference). The thing I really love is being in charge - everything is done online. There's no call centre. You want to change your plan so just log in and do it. The only downside I can see is that they don't offer that "all in" roaming deal that you can get with other carriers. As was mentioned earlier. Get a SIM and try it out. Whats to lose? PM me if you need a referral (there's introductory deals for you and me for all referrals). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Got giff-gaff on my personal mobile, and on the kids' phones. Approx £5/month each for 4G and "enough" minutes, data, etc for normal use. Saves me a fortune. Coverage is identical to O2, and where I live and work, it is better than Vodafone (on the work mobile). It's free to try (well, a fiver), with no contract, termination fees, etc. So nowt to lose in giving it a shot. Will need to make sure you get the short codes for voicemail, call forwarding, balance check, etc from the website and put into your phone. Pete
