IIRC.... He raced 400 supersport class ZXR400.. Damaged one of his nuts at Pembrey...

 

Helped him reach the high notes though.

Looks like he's let himself go from those heady DD days.

That’s right, it was probably ‘91, I was racing SS600.
Simon, his brother & their families were next to us in the paddock. He may have had a trip to the hospital after his off. They’d forgotten their kettle so we made them tea all weekend. Really down to earth, he loved his bikes and racing. Think he only did a few meetings before his management made him stop.

Looking at your avatar i'm getting very hungry now.

 

Apparently he still house the SP3 at his house just off Richmond Rd in Sheen. Hasn’t ridden it for years. I know a mechanic who serviced it for him many years ago. There been alot of debate/talk on another forum whether it’s a rare SP3S.

 

Why don't you be brave & knock on his front door and find out.

 

Remember reading an article about S LeBon and Vic Reeves who were both 888 riders...

 

I know the SPS (variant of the SP4), but not heard of the SP3S, or find anything on it. Tell us more.

 

Do a search on the 851/888 Forum, there was quite a debate on there about the SP3S.
