Slipper clutch

  1. So would fitting a slipper clutch to a 996 make it lighter on the wrist? Already have a JHP clutch slave cylinder fitted which if I am honest doesn't make any difference on the wrist....

    cheers

  2. no not really…..the slipper bit doesn't/ isn't anything to do with the feel of the in/ out of the clutch

  3. Any ideas how to "lighten" the clutch?

  4. A different clutch master cylinder would help.

    Brembo RCS are very good

  5. Get a quickshifter.......you then only use the clutch 60% of the time.

  6. Oberon slave?
You could try removing two of the springs from the pressure plate, although in some cases this causes slippage.
    Worth a go though...:upyeah:

  7. Ok what size rcs ? I believe they are 16 but I read that some road clutches have heavier parts and need a bigger bore??

would the standard 16mm be good for the 996

  8. I just bought a Brembo RCS 16x18 master clutch cylinder. Around £220 on eBay

  9. Oberon slave cylinder , it made a huge difference and i still run all the springs .I did this after my first couple of "through town" rides . Top quality as well .

  10. You will feel a sort of click through the lever though with a slipper clutch

  11. I had the 16x18 Brembo RCS and it was faultless, absolutely spot-on.

It made the clutch a lot lighter, and gave more feel

  12. I'd try taking two of these springs off first. Zero cost.

  13. Looks more a necessity than an option with that broken post.
