At around 8pm last night my younger brother was airlifted by helicopter from Taplow to The John Radcliff in Oxford. Wearing full motorcycle leathers did not offer the protection action required this particular event. It would appear that a SMIDSY occurred. Over night he's lost his right foot between the knee and ankle. They are fighting to save the rest of the leg, but at least he is now stable in ICU. The 22 year old female car driver was unhurt. The road was shut for several hours while police recorded the incident (not called an accident any more). Needless to save the MTS1200 is no more. The police are keeping both vehicles until their investigation is complete. How life changes! Keep safe people. Hang on in there little dude.:Sorry:
That's really crap. As you say, at least he is stable though. Thoughts with you all. Amazing how quickly life gets turned upside down.
This is awful. So sorry to hear of this, Paul. Best wishes for your little brother, I hope he comes through this horrible event OK, as best he can.
Good God sorry to hear that. I'm sure we're all wishing him well. Take care and please keep us informed on his condition.
We are all so, so vulnerable to a moments inattention or carelessness from other road users... Really sorry this has happened. Best wishes to your brother for a speedy recovery and a relatively good outcome.
