So Is The Nec Show In November Worth Making The Trip For?

  1. never been but heard it used to be good. is it worth the effort given the relatively dire quality of uk bike shows compared to our mainland europe brethren's?

  2. Not been for a while now, Don't think I'll be going again any time soon. Guess you've really got to be in to bikes and the associated industry to really appreciate it.
Was just an excuse to get on the piss early doors.

  3. Depends. If you like the look of next year's bikes or want some bargains on kit, then yes. Otherwise, probably not - unless you just fancy a day out.

  4. Been the last 2 years won't be going again only went to see the new Ducati models being launched

  5. Tend to go and meet up with a few friends, have a look at the new bikes, clothing and accessories. Easy day out for me, get the train for less than a tenner or ride (less than an hour) and park for free. If it were less accessible I probably wouldn't bother TBH.

  6. Exactly this. We’ve just decided to meet up in London, go down the bike shed and get on the piss all day instead.

  10. I am going, went last year. Niece bought her new Monster 821 after last years visit, but I didn't really think that there were any bargains there.
This year the niece and I are doing the Milan show first, then going to the UK for the NEC show, wonder which one will be better?

  11. Yeah I reckon it is worth going, whether you’re after a new bike, want to see all the new stuff in one place or just need some inspiration.
People talk about grabbing a bargain, yeah maybe you will be saving a few quid if ya need something but no guarantees that there’s going to be mega-cheap stuff. I’ve never bought much kit or accessories.
I’m not saying it’s a cheap day either, but for if you’re a keen biker then a decent day out.
Oh yeah and take the bike so it’s free parking

  12. Free parking with a car if you stay at the NEC Hilton too.

  13. It’s hardly any different to the London show

  14. NEC is not great , but it’s not as bad as London. I’ve seen better dealer showrooms.

    London was epic shit.

As was the mobile home/ campervan exhibition at the NEC ... Also very shit.
Conclusion : beer festivals are better
    :)

  19. its ok if you weigh 26 stone or 5 stone and are looking to buy some 1990s power ranger style leathers. Other than that you are better going to a bike showroom and saving yourself £100 in fuel , food and parking costs. It is dross.
