Hi all! Now the time has come to get back on the duke I find myself with a dilemma. Two years and a half ago I got the engine overhauled and tuned etc on the 750ss and they changed the belts along with the work. Now since then the bike has done about 15 miles max (back home from the garage). I have turned the belts every two weeks to stop then getting 'memory', I am now unsure wether it's necessary to replace the before I get the bike back on the road? As they're meant to be replaced every 12,000 miles or two years. What's your advice? Thanks
Swap 'em. It's cheap insurance (relatively) and despite the turning to stop them taking shapes, the rubber perishes over time.
Ditto to what Nelly says. The job is simple to do your self and the extra piece of mind you'll get from having done them is invaluable
