I have the day to myself tomorrow and its a choice between riding for the day or going here. Never bothered much with shows so anyone been is the last couple of years? Is it worth going or is it people selling piles of tat from boxes.
Went last year - classic bike show is quite good. Lots of specialists in the halls and tat percentage quite low compared to Excel show. Many spares outside of course but still had to look hard for Italian parts (moo)
Mainly British and Classic Jap club stands. DOCGB there with some interesting bikes usually, Laverda Guzzi and MV O.C too. Good for an hour or two wandering around if you're not hunting for something. ps good café but no bar as I recall.
Am going to this for the first time, taking my son for a "boys only day" while the wife and little girl bake cakes....
Been twice - came away with bikes from the Bonaham's auction twice - show is quite diverse and plenty to see. Auction is pricy to get in if your not bidding but not so many interesting bikes on offer as last year.
going again tomorrow with a wallet full of cash usually end up coming home with wallet still full of cash because few bargains and parts I am looking for usually obscure or unusual and easier and cheaper to find on ebay
I was there last year and one stall had a low mileage GSXR750RR (1989) for around £6500 - if I'd had the money and space on the trailer I would have snapped that up. It didn't sell all weekend as I saw it late Sunday afternoon. Phoned the owner up to buy it Monday - overdraught / credit card, it had gone. They are fetching £15K!!!
was there yesterday pretty good show picked up a few odds and sods been going for around 14 years odd always a good day
Well, what a surprise. I enjoyed the day. What I learned. 1.Never knew so many people were into classic bikes.nit was a huge show. 2. I could buy a totally waterproof "genuine" gortexsuit for £49.00 3. I have thrown away better things than some were selling. 4. Not to look surprised when I get charged £2.00 for a £1.00 bottle of pop. 5. No one was selling a genuine CT honda And I will go again next year
forgot to mention the wife was looking at a t shirt on a particular stall turns round..........who was behind me ........carl fogarty .........shorter than I thought he was
