Arse, so after parking up at the weekend my side stand sunk into some soft tarmac and I came back to find my bike on its side ā no damage aside from the clutch level which snapped so Iām looking for a replacement. So either one clutch lever in silver or a pair in black would be best! My bike is an S4RS but I think they are mostly the same after a certain year, they look like this: Thanks a lot chaps!
Pattern part, might be worth a go? NEW ALLOY CLUTCH LEVER TO FIT DUCATI 848 & STREETFIGHTER S 09-11 | eBay
If they are Brembo, and you are very careful, you might find it will straighten.............determine exactly where the bend is and get it in the vice horizontally between two softwood blocks so the bend is partly caught in the blocks (say about a 1/4)..........then get a pipe or something (spark plug box spanner say) that will fit over the ball end (wrap the end in rag first) and then apply some leverage...not too much......then with the pressure still applied gently bounce your body weight against the pipe repeatedly about six times..again, don't lean too hard. If the finish will withstand some heat, use a blowtorch on the bend first.....don't get it red hot, and this time don't lean to hard. Apologies if it snaps........that's the risk, but I have done three levers now without heat. AL
Unfortunately it already snapped when the bike went over but I appreciate the directions. It snapped off at the racing inspired design point though so it is just about still usable with two two figures.
Also, I've heard bad things about the pattern parts (poor fit, loose etc.) so I think I am best off with Brembro OEM if I can get some. Thanks for the replies guys, hopefully someone will chime in with some soon.
