  1. Hi guys. I'm thinking about 899 but first I have to ask someone, how 899 starts at cold weather? At present I have 749 and every winter sometimes it struggling to start when temp. is close to "0". Thanks for any advise.

  2. Never had a problem

  3. Had problems with my 999s when it got cold but the Pani is fine even sub zero.... a lithium battery sorted the 999s issues mind...

  4. My 848 used to be a pig in cold weather. The 959 and 1299 are fine in cold weather. No problems at all. I expect the 899 is just as easy.

  5. Much easier thanks to the starter decompression system introduced on the 1199 and which is fitted to all Superquadro engines, including the 899. Much reduced load on the starter and less current draw as a result. You will still need a healthy battery though, as the temperatures predictably plummet south for the Winter.

  6. Overnight charge once a week during winter will be enough to keep a battery live as such...if its in a garage.

leaving a batt on charge constantly does more damage

I fired up the pani after 4/5 weeks last Sat, not a bother. Kaabooom - neighbors were scowling at me ;)

  7. Took my 848 EVO out for the first time in a month, started no differently at zero degrees than it did the last time I used it at 13 degrees.

Was expecting a battle of wills, but it was absolutely fine.

  8. Never had a problem with my 899.
