996 Std Foam Air Filter

  1. Hello

    Just after some advice on the std foam Air Filter. I assume they can be cleaned in soapy warm water?
    Once cleaned do they need to have some oil rubbed into ithem?... or run them dry? Cant find anything in the manual.
     
  2. I believe they are meant to be replaced.
    I use Pipercross ones - they can be washed and re-oiled. I use K&N filter oil - it's very lightweight in viscosity . Apply sparingly.
     
  3. is the type that fit over the throttle bodies??
     
  4. I cleaned mine in soapy water and refitted dry. Std filters.

  6. I tried washing the original filters......I now have a pile of foam bits.

    I wouldn't suggest trying to wash them :rage:
