Stepper Motors - Are They Serviceable?

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Borgo Panigale, Apr 1, 2019.

  1. My Morini Granpasso uses the same stepper motor as the 1098 (and other Ducati models). Has anyone had theirs apart to service it? Or had one playing up and got it working again?

Mine's acting up; the engine dies if revs drop to 2,000 rpm, even if rolling along, so the poor starter motor's out of breath... help~!

  2. I don't think they are serviceable as such but a thorough soaking with carb cleaner will often unstick the internal valve.

  7. Have a look that the throttle bodies haven't popped up from the inlet rubbers.
