  1. Hiya all
Had a steroid injection recently in my shoulder I now have like a bruise feeling down the side of my arm and also the same feeling on the top of my hand.
    Anyone else experienced this?

  2. Intramuscular injections can do that , I also had it very badly once with a canula.
If really worried check with Gp.
Feel for you I am hoping I get one tonight although I won't feel much as last time to my horror in the top of my buttock area ..nice :)
    Hope you feel better soon

  3. emms just had a major car crash resulting in severe whiplash/back pain ..(she had to be cut out of the astra as they thought she'd broke her back ) anyway you lot need to get a girly duke trackday sorted when your all mended ............

  4. Hi, is this the same shoulder that you had manipulated? Just asking because a friend of mine has a frozen shoulder and she has now found that the steroid injections are not working, did the manipulation work?

  5. Yes Katie it's the fractured shoulder.
    It's been manipulated and
The shoulder moved much better after manipulation but straight after I had exercises to do every hour I cried for the first day doing them but glad I did. Did your friend do hers?

Now the injection. It's easier to move without pain but it's still a little stiff and aches on fracture sight.
I may have a tear in the rotacuff but have to try injection first!!

  6. I did have a canular in the hand when it was manipulated but that was in Nov.
Seems to hurt now since the injection

  7. Ooooo ouch painful.
Trackday sounds good I need to get my nerve to ride back first

  8. Hi Ducbird,
There are several approaches to injecting into the joint itself, or infiltrating around various tendons around the joint, with a local anaesthetic and steroid. Sometimes there can be more pain for a day or two after. I would not normally expect the odd feeling over the back of the hand as a result of this. It may be unrelated, but could be due to "bruising", compression or stretching of a nerve or nerve root supplying the hand area - in vicinity of lower part of neck, or along route of nerve around shoulder area is rightough to lower part of arm/hand.
The advice to check this out with your GP is bang on.
Hope you get sorted, and back on your bike soon.
    Steve

  9. Thankfully my steroids are oral.......don't much fancy having big needles stuck in my lungs.

    AL.

  10. Ooooo don't think I would either Al

Didnt see the size of my needle but the consultant doing it has had the injection too so was really good at doing it and making sure it was bearable.

  11. I'm just wondering that now I can't feel much pain in my shoulder that I may have caught a nerve as it's down the back if my arm and kinda in the same place on back of my hand.

Couple days after injection the shoulder did stick but snapped back into place think it may have happened then 

  12. Viv, kind of forgot about your bump. How are you progressing? Getting back to normal? On a bike?

  13. Hi jerry
Thanks for asking im getting there.
I'm thinking about a return to biking
Before I was adamant never again but the pain soon goes but the joy of riding does not.
Perhaps a more upright would suit me 

    Hope your ok 
