  1. Me again!!!!

Previous owner was a little OTT with the stickers so want to remove some - safe procedure??

    Hairdryer?

What about afterwards, what should i use if needed to polish out any glue residue?

    Any ideas?

  2. Hairdryer to soften glue and WD40 to remove residue.

  3. As above, work on the theory " if it's to hot for your fingers, it's to hot for the paint". Slowly slowly, quite therapeutic. Mine was covered.

  4. Panel Wipe is safer than WD40 as it is designed for grease removal and will remove glue as it contains a light solvent. You can buy it from a decent car\paint motor factors.

  5. Ask your office copier engineer for some label remover. Does what it says on the can.

  11. I've used dental floss to remove stickers in the past, followed by panel wipe to remove any residue.
Then a polish and a wax to remove any difference in paint colour.

  12. cheers for all the replies - havent been brave enough to get the hairdryer out. Appears on closer inspection (and also a receipt) that one panel was repainted - you can see this - no idea why, dont think accident as all others appear original and new and no scuffs on the frame or anywhere else - i think too many stickers so will work on it, but this is it in it's current state..... You cant see too many of the stickers here, but there are loads I dont think should be on it!

  14. Blimey!!! That was intense!!

  15. This is her after the hair dryer / WD40. I was a bit worried what I would find underneath but all was peachy apart from the rear seat unit. I can live with one panel needing a re-spray. I'm waiting to a VERY hot day in July and will go out for a long ride, park her up for a bit, then have a go at the front number board..........

  16. Looks awesome!!

  17. typical!!! couldnt find the WD40 when I needed it BUT I did make a start on the stickers - only found one stone chip and blemish on the tank so can live with that for sure!! just the residue to get off but was surprised how easy it was - am leaving the tankpad for now until I get an alternative sorted!

  18. You could probably get that out by filling with some paint touch up and then rubbing down with 2000 grit wet and dry and then a touch in with some lacquer.

  19. You can get something called sticky stuff remover which is designed for removing residue.
I think you can get it from Halfords and Homebase.

  20. Found my wd40 but not all off yet - think a little reheat of the residue and some polishing should sort it!
