Strange noises

  1. When I was wheeling my 1198s into the garage this evening,I noticed a strange clunking noise,as if the chain was catching on something.i put the rear paddock stand on and spun the wheel,it got louder.so I pushed the gear lever down and it disappeared,could this be a false nutreal.
     
  2. Nearly........but no, IMO.........

    A false neutral will usually appear in between the gears from 2nd upwards, 'cos you mis-footed changing up or down (usually up, to make you look a right pr*t).

    Probably what you got today was a slightly mis-footed neutral, IE you didn't quite get it right when you stopped and what you could hear were gear teeth just touching as you wheeled the bike.....

    Fairly common, I reckon........
