Today I have successfully removed my Datatool 3 alarm from my 749s, a task made very difficult; despite masquerading as an electrician, as all the numerous wires emanating from the alarm unit where all the same Black colour, and I don't have a wiring diagram for either the Datatool alarm or my 749s ( I do have the workshop manual on C.D, but can't find a wiring diagram!) I basically traced all the black wires back to where they spliced into the loom and various connecting blocks and cut them free, after carefully labeling them in case of trouble necessitating a refit! I had to use my 'intuition' on a few of the wires and guessed that they performed a switching function and thereby disabling something when the alarm was activated. My guesses proved correct however as the beast started first time now the cancerous alarm has been removed. ( hugely relieved). I would still like to get hold of a wiring diagram if anyone can help, as I would like to see what I have done and how the alarm wires integrated into the system.
Ha well done. Now you have the evil thing off, either kill it or cut off the labels so it can't find its way back onto the bike.
