I can find a set for £251 (V2) on tyre leader or £302 (V3) from FWR. But is there much difference between the two? Plus ive never used tyreleader before. Are they okay? Its a saving off £51 between new spec and old spec. I'm a fast road rider mainly and I need a new set for our alpine shenanigans in June. Would the older spec be okay? I actually have an old set of v2's still on the bike.
V2 will be more than adequate, I imagine very few will get anywhere near the limits of either, what can Bob at FWR do the V2s for or has he moved on ?
Theres no V2's at 200/55 on FWR. Although they were cheaper at tyreleader for teh v2's, Ive never used tyreleader before. I've always used FWR in all my years, so I thought 'fuck it' and bought the v3's as I know fwr. Cost £298 but I know theyll be here tomorrow.
I had the same dilemma a few weeks ago. Ended up buying the V3 at £315 fitted to loose wheels from these guys: http://racerubber.co.uk/ If you're getting them fitted from where you've bought them, you can claim £30 back from Pirelli: https://www.pirelli.com/tyres/en-gb/motorcycle/promo/uk-pirelli-chequeback
I used to ride up to Lambeth/Kennington to FWR, but nowadays I just cant be arsed. I hate Norbury, Streatham, Brixton/Stockwell and the ride thru is just a pain in the ass. Traffic is horrendous. So I buy loose and get them fitted local for £20.
