  2. Thanks. Done. A proposal not properly thought through as it stands, seemingly. Tom.

  3. cant really see it happening

  4. Skim reading it, it's basically just "not for road" exhausts which aren't allowed on the road now anyway.

  5. I can. Without EU legislation to enforce, Civil Service jobsworths have little to do now and this campaign is gaining pace in Austria, Germany and France.

If you read a little deeper, it applies to exhausts that do away with emission controls so the EU homologated systems that many of us have fitted to our bikes that meet noise standards but delete the CAT will be illegal. It will also be illegal to manufacture and retail such replacement parts.

My fear is, this legislation is making much of modified motorcycles but not modified cars. On the housing estate where I live there are about 6 modified cars that have exhaust systems louder than my Panigale V4 Akrapovic and the dickhead that has a straight through Harley.

The vehicle modifications business is worth tens if not hundreds of millions, all of which is subject to NI contributions, employer tax, VAT, business rates and a tax on profits. Something the Chancellor of the Exchequer might not have been told.
