OK, So I have put over 20000miles on my bike and really love it, as I've got more and more familiar with it I have noticed the front pogo ever so slightly. I was wondering if the suspension ECU upgrade was worth getting or just play with damping & preload
I got it on my 2010. Fit it for the ride home and it just works. I absolutely caned it home down twisty country lanes and it was fantastic. You can pick up 2nd hand ones cheap enough now so well worth doing. Makes the differences between modes very noticeable too. When the missus is on the back, if we hit some bumpy roads it goes into touring and it smooths out all the bumps. Even she knows when I've changed it to touring, just through feel. I got mine through eBay but it just happened to be a forum member on here.
The ohlins ecu upgrade is defernitly a great improvement, had mine fitted for a couple of years now and love it Bear in mind it only alters damping comp/rebound on the front forks, Spring preload is still manual, so check you have the correct preload and suspension sag for your weight too
Definitely worth having. I bought mine a few months ago s/h from someone on here so a bargain too. I would say it has reinvigorated my love of the Multi. 15 minutes to install but another hour or more to enter all the settings! Important to note that the Ohlins SCU has a wider (but coarser) range of damper settings so that: 4 on OEM = 3 on Ohlins 8 on OEM = 5 on Ohlins 12 on OEM = 7 on Ohlins 18 on OEM = 10 on Ohlins 22 on OEM = 12 on Ohlins 26 on OEM = 14 on Ohlins 32 on OEM (Max) = 17 on Ohlins
I haven't set the sag yet, I did ask about it when I bought the bike but the salesman was clueless when I asked him about sag settings - plus (as I haven't even looked) I was unsure how straightforward it was due to the electrickery or whether you just crack on as per normal suspension?! - do the cables that go into the forks need unplugging prior to adjustment etc
