Swapping Lock Barrels on Top Case

  1. I'm considering an MTS1200S 2013 model however I'd like to take a lot of the extras of my 2010 model including the top case. It appears the part numbers are the same for red top case however I'd have to swap over the lock barrels. Has anyone had experience of doing this?

  2. I've not swapped lock barrels, but I did fit mine.

    Its not a difficult job, you just need a pozi screwdriver and take your time.
    Also don't try to over tighten the screws as they only screw into the plastic...

  3. i did it... just remove 2 screws in the back of the lock in the case.. the rest shows itself..

    believe me : if i can do it, it is really easy :)

  4. Thanks for your replies, looks like it's an easier job than I expected. I though I had read somewhere that the pannier lock barrels were difficult to install, so made the wrong assumption on the top case lock.

  5. The top case lock is very easy, the panniers are a little bit of hassle, but not difficult:smile:
