Swingarm blues

  1. As mentioned else where I'm in the process of fitting some Woodcraft rear sets. So I've also got a replacement brake line, which has involved removing the rear hugger.

All the bolts came out save one of the lower mounts which just span round & round. Further investigation shows the threaded insert has come a drift from the rest of the swing arm.

Can you get oversize inserts to fit or am I wasting my time

  2. Do you mean the inserts that are in the swingarm which the hugger bolts fit?

Aluminium swingarm I assume? Is it the aluminium or the insert that has failed?

This might be useful to give you an idea of what is available.............http://www.insertsdirect.com/

Personally, if it is just to hold the hugger on, I would think a well nut would do the trick.

    AL.

  3. Hi AL,

I wish it were an ally one. Its a bog standard steel jobbie, and its only holding the hugger.

  4. You could still consider the example inserts, though....
