I had a 999 seat unit signed by Troy Bayliss , in fact its adorning my bike know , I sprayed over it , it wasn't black but red and I wanted it black so Troy had to go. Admittedly it wasn't a genuine corse item , but who cares , I remember asking a members advice back in the Ducatisti days , I said to him (forgot who it was ) is it worth keeping ? , he told me who will know who Troy Bayliss is outside of racing circles , that was good enough to bring me back to reality, better to get use out of that tailpiece rather than have it stuck on a shelf gathering dust.
