Taken The Plunge: Abba Sky Lift Ordered...

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by Exige, Aug 1, 2014.

  1. Just bought one of these.... after much consideration at all the options I just had to have one of these - more than some cost but it wheelies, no competition really.

Going to put it on my Holeshot Hayabusa LSRH for the Performance Bikes article then in the bike room on my 999R in a wheelie position :D

Can't wait for it to arrive!

  2. Nice buy. I've got an Abba center stand and front arm that got delivered to the office today. I was so tempted to go for the skylift as well. I think once we move I'll look to get one of those.

  3. I'll let you know how it goes - will post some pictures when set up...

  4. gonna go for one of those i.jacs come winter.

  5. What about the new revised Warrior stand from Deamon Tweeks at £120? Looks like the same stand and if there were issues they must have been corrected for them to stock again - read it was weak castors?

  6. i liked the way the fella came on here and defended his product and its British built. i don't know about the worrier stand. maybe to long in the trade but i find cheep is usually worse.

  7. We buy cheap tooling (up to circa £100K) at work from China for simple jobs but you have to have people over there watching them for sure :Watching: but the specialist, more complicated stuff we would buy from the EU (tooling up to £1million) I wouldn't personally have an issue with the Warrior stand as its just mild steel and simple mechanisms but I don't condone anyone for buying British or what they feel more comfortable! I wonder where the 1Jac castors come from, maybe we will find out - but it's a typical China product in bulk...

  8. Hi Finm & Exige,

We can confirm that our castors come from Bilgroup, which are a British based company. They are industrial rated, twin wheel castors with steel bearing, with a run operation of 120kg each. As of today we have no record of any wheel failure and in any case we also offer a life time defect warranty on our lift.
I hope this re assures you :)

Also our lifts are on offer at the moment at a price of £295.00 inc VAT and we have also put in place a 10% discount on any lifts ordered through 1Jac.com (the 10% discount will finish Weds 13th August 2014. Just go to our website and type Summer10 in the Voucher Code box.

    Many Thanks
    Jodie

  9. British built stands to hold your Italian and Japanese bikes

  10. Hi Jodie,
That's a really professional politicians answer seeing as BIL group's castors are manufactured in China! The issue regarding PR and Forums is they can be a pretty wide variety of views and comment's. It is generally better to try and tell the truth instead of pulling the wool over peoples eye's if indeed that is what you intended to do? Or were your castors produced in the UK by special request perhaps?
Regarding your warranty, if a castor fails and the stand falls over and also the bike with the resultant momentum, is the bike also covered? Just playing Devils advocate here due to your previous reply.
Your current competitions' stand @ £120.00 looks as though it could have almost been a direct copy of your original design - also the German Version - is that the case in your opinion?

  11. not very yellow is it..

  12. am i missing something here?

  13. It wouldn't match my Red Ducati's if it was, in fact it would clash somewhat! ;)

  14. Why did you go for the abba stand rather than any other make?

  15. Just thought the versatility of the higher lift, the nose wheelie and wheelie option was worth the extra expense for me - will use in the garage but main reason was to display one of the 999R's wheeling in the bike room, just looks fab IMO

  18. Managed to adjust and get it higher - fits better than imagined, might fit another bike in now!

Stand was very easy to put together, access is amazing - better than imagined. Sad thing is it that it's looking so useful it might have to go in the garage and be used for it's true purpose as a tool and not just a display stand!
It's best to check the online video's to work out the strap position.

Very highly recommended, best thing I have bought for ages - considered it since first seeing in a mag but wish I'd bought earlier!
