Not the obvious one that runs up the tank from the seat towards the petrol cap. But... Having spent a far few pounds on getting the tank repaired and re-sprayed It hurts me to see the paint being rubbed off by the seat when I remove it. So I was thinking of some clear protective type film that I can cut to the shape of the seat and stick it to the tank The idea being you wouldn’t see it when the seat is in place. Has anyone done something similar or recommend a suitable quality product? TIA
Helicopter tape off eBay will do the job. Matt or gloss. like this:- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112927243132
Does it mould itself to the tank profile easily and stay there? The clear tank protector I currently have is fine, but the last one I had to remove it was absolutely bobbins, peeled at the edges.
On my Monster its cut to the shape where the seat fits to the tank, wrapped in one piece around. Its never moved or slipped, but if it did it wouldn't be seen anyway. I also have it on the top section of my Suzuki tank, as the usual protectors look a bit weird on dirt bikes. Not so easy to get it to bend exactly with the curves. But its a dirtbike so its OK!
