I bought a second hand full system and had it installed. It is the complete package with the race ECU. It is a first gen multi from 2011. Is any amount of flame coming out of the exhaust normal? I noticed that it pops quite loudly a few times when cold started and flames come out until it starts to idle normally. There's also a fair bit of decel popping, which I gather is to be expected but I don't know what's a normal amount vs what is excessive. I also cannot tell if there's also flame coming out when I hear a pop while decelerating. Also, maybe a related side question. If I am not mistaken the new models use a different programmable ECU. Has the Race ecu on the first gen models seen an update at all since being released?
Mine did after the remap Guy at hilltop said it was fine and rear cylinder should run richer What's not to like ? They're flames
Mine pops now on overrun since fitting the termignoni exhaust and rexxer ECU. I like it, it give the bike a bit of a rawness feel something which can be lost on over refined engineering.
Thanks guys. I also don't mind it. And this season I am finding that if I am smooth with the throttle I like the exhaust note and the pops more. When used abrubtly when I first had it installed last season it wasn't as fun. I almost feel like the bike is adapting to me it feels so good this season. Off to Italy via Greece soon where it should really shine.
Tell that to the wife when it starts to melt her pants. I have a full mivv system with flames and pops looks good but not practical for blats out with the wife. been sorted now for some reason my major service fixed the problem.
