......contact lenses!! I have been wearing varifocal glasses for ages now as both my near and distant vision isn't too good. (according to my optician it all goes down hill from aged 46 and I passed that landmark some time ago). I'm now trying out varifocal contact lenses and they are fantastic. All of a sudden I can see the road ahead, the instruments, what's in the mirrors, all in focus and clear. Not having glasses frames blocking my peripheral vision is so good too. It also helps that I'll no longer leave my glasses on the back seat of the bike when I put my helmet on and then drive off without putting them on so that they get run over by a taxi!
i think a lot of people from that age on would be surprised by just how crap and potentially poor their uncorrected vision actually is compared to the required standard.............if there was a way of doing a spot check
Funny, I turned 40 and my vision went back to almost 20/20 after being short sighted for 20 years and needing glasses to drive...now I dont
I had one eye done last year, awesome difference. I can see at a distance and don't need glasses for reading, the brain takes care of balancing up the different images. The recent news on the South African wicket keeper and the F1 test driver bring it home just how lucky we are to have our sight in both eyes.
Me as well for the laser job. Best grand I ever spent. Only had to have one eye done so I now have one eye for long looking and one eye for reading and me brain makes it look right terrific. Regards Steve
