The How Many ‘endorsements’ Do You Have Thread

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Advikaz, Feb 27, 2018.

  1. Talking to a few people I know and people at work, I’m amazed at how many points some of them have and equally amazed that some of the craziest drivers or riders I know have squeaky clean licences...

I’ve got 3 points for speeding in a goods vehicle (van) was 1mph off a ban.. I know, I know, ride a superbike, get nicked driving a transit van, I get a lot of stick for it. In my defence, I had no idea a transit connect was classed as a goods vehicle and got nicked on a dual carriageway which I thought would be 70.

Ive got a suspicion I may just be about to join the 6 pointer club, after getting a bollocking from the police this morning for driving in a hard shoulder, to be fair it was opposite the junction in a jam, I was trying to come off at and I thought it was the slip road because everyone else was in it, the snow was deep and you couldn’t see the markings :/

So what’s your tally of endorsements for outstanding road discipline ? I’m wondering what is normal these days?

  2. None, only ever had 3 back in the 90's and it was in a van for doing 57mph in a 30mph at 2am. Never had points from a bike.

  3. Clean now. But I had 9 as soon as I past my test for no insurance and no L plates on a car I bought before I had a licence.

  4. clean licence me:)

  5. 3. Doing 37 in a 30 if I remember correctly.

  6. I got done in Sussex, tight bend in a 30 and a copper jumped out from behind a tree with a hair dryer and his mate pulled me over in the lay by and did me for 33.... whilst this was going on a datsun cherry in a rust colour ie no paint left on it at all came round the corner on 2 wheels and for sure not in control, I said to the man with the I'm the boss hat on what about him?? he said it's his lucky day, so 3 for me

  7. They’re everywhere in Sussex, that’s where I achieved my first endorsements (a23 mobile scammera van)

  8. I travel a lot and the worst countys are Sussex and Kent, but I think Number 1 no tolerance we hate everyone that drives anything is the welsh cops, they are bad to the bone

  9. Depends....if I slowed down enough when I spotted the scamera van well in the distance on a flyover this week near Wetherby!

  12. Back in the early to mid 80's I had more than you could count. I never even had a license. Nor tax, nor MOT, nor insurance and not registered in my name and Lambretta 200's badged as 125s, no L plates. I eventually got 2wks (did 1wk) in Ville for non payment of fines. (£400 rose to £900 due to non payment, court reattendance etc etc) Ive outrun many a cop car on a lambretta. Up yours PC Sutherland, cant catch me...Times were different. At one point they'd wait at end of my road to nick me. Thus I used to off road it in fields behind and race past em and be gone down an alley. My scoot cost £50 tops and i was jobless and Thatchers Britain meant no work for yoofs. I also did 4wks in Wandsworth for riding on a ban about 2wks after I got out for an offence committed prior to both. I did 2wks. Twas fun. Interesting experience. Coppers love a chase anyway.

Now Im clean as a whistle. Zero points. Not had any for over 20yrs. When I had 11. 105mph on M23 on t595 and 6 pts for daring to be crashed into by a van. TBF he got 12 and a ban, but fuck knows why I got 6. I didnt argue the toss as 11 meant I had to keep schtum.

I was a tad manic as a yoof. Im much more sedate now. I kinda grew up and became normal. Although I was just a harmless rebel without a clue. On a Lambretta. Oh to be 19 again, happy days. But times were very different.

  15. Fizzies? yeuk. :p You were the enemy round our way. You lot, and causals, skins, greasers, coppers too. Fuck, everyone was our enemy.

  16. Yere, I was the geezer with the spannie and fairing going flat out around the local park at 30 moph lol

  17. None :innocent:, mainly due to no fixed cameras here and knowing the camera van spots - main thing is villages and sticking to 30 through them. Unmarked vehicles including bikes stick to popular runs to the coast, so detour off them...

  18. I were the scooterist who pinched yer alspeed spannie and butchered it onto my lammy and was doing 60 till it fell off.

I welded it with an arc welder and wondered afterwards why my eyes felt like they had sand in them.

  19. None here. Had two topping up bans in the past, mainly due to being a despatch rider.

  20. Had to do an online DVLA check and appears I have 9 points. Six collected in the transit van and three in the BMW from the static 50mph road works cameras on the M3 at 0100hrs.

When I first started driving I had a crappy diesel Ford Escort Estate turbo diesel that took two days to get to top speed and about the same to stop. I was travelling across the country every week at night and continuously picked up points as it was so boring I would miss the cameras. I then got into fast cars and now motorbikes and didn't get a single point for twenty years until now where I seem to be racking them up in the Transit again.
