The right ECU? 748 916 996 998

  1. Hi,
Whilst fitting an alloy subframe to my 748 Bip, I noticed that on the underside of the ECU, it states 916??
I am running a 45mm Termi system, pipercross filters and a Ducati 748 open pipe chip. It does run rich but would the 916 ECU be affecting this?

Any thoughts would be appreciated, also would it help with a 916 performance chip?

    Cheers

  2. The ecu's are the same. The EPROM carries the changes. 916 chip would be no good at all tbh. Get the fi systems set up properly and it should be fine.

  3. i always suspected it was the case but now I know. Thanks Neil

  4. Is it possible to reprogramme the 1.6m eprom chip's ?

  5. If its definitely an Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory that's in there then technically yes.

The problem is..... identifying the type of chip it is and having something to write to it.

Most universal EPROM programmers will write to any chip as long as you tell the software what type of chip it is ( size, speed, addresses etc).

  6. CJS down Bristol way was all set up for programming the chips had a Dyno available I believe he could programme each cylinder separately
