My 1098 suffered a loss of power and an unexpected stop on Saturday morning.... Panning for copper....
No. I'm too skint for the near future. My mate Jack did on his 675 trumpet. I note they funnelled the straight.
Yup - bit hairy down the end there! Track was bit hard to follow in places, just a sea of bloody yellow cones...:Woot:
there was a very cheap 1098 engine on ebay a while back. Looked water damaged cosmetically ut a swap of internals etc...
That looks as if it could be expensive, i'm thinking i'd be better off keeping my SP as an ornament (not that its done f all this year). Is it crank or gearbox bits stuck on the sump plug? Good luck with it, kev.
Bike will be harvested for a few parts then broken. Looks like big end bits. The sad tale.... I was out for a ride sat morn and the bike suddenly kind of felt wrong and under powered, I rolled off and came to a halt, (sure I could hear some metallic sounds) the bike then just stopped/cut out on it;s own, I tried to restart, but the bike, sort of sounded like it had a flat or low battery. The AA man arrived and tried to jump it, but exactly the same, even of a jump pack. Got the bike home and had a fiddle with a new rec/reg and even a new ecu. Bike started very briefly but still exhibited the same metallic grating noise, then stopped again, then back to slow/lazy turnover on a good batt. I can only assume the bottom is seized, although it will spin with the plugs out!?!?! Drained the oil today and you see the results...
