Thicker Steel Clutch Plates - Sigma Slipper

  1. Hi all

for all you TLDR where can I get thicker steel clutch plates (34tooth) 2.3mm or 2.5 mm for my 1299s ? What other bike has same dimension or company that makes them?

    Ramble full post lol

I have a Sigma slipper clutch on my 1299s and it's great but having issue getting it setup in spec of 1.5-1.7mm the best I can get with the supplied larger 2.3mm plate is about 0.78mm

It's been okay but I can feel when in the horrible 4k rpm zone where the 1299 map surges a touch as it fafs about the slipper is starting to try and unlock (slight finger pressure on the clutch lever you can fell the tell tale click).

I have on on instance when doing a Hard pull had an odd slip as I briefly ever so slightly let off as I hesitated as thought a car was shifting into my lane but didn't. So super definitely trying to unlock sooner than it should.

Pulled my clutch apart and it measures about 50.7mm full stack (50.8mm on a new clutch) and all.steel plates at 2mm and friction plates around 2.78-2.79mm (2.8mm on a New clutch) so not bad at 17k miles but clutch is almost as new wear wise, so a new clutch pack isn't needed.
    So I need 2 2.5mm 33 tooth steel.clurxh plates or 3 2.3mm (sigma provide a 2.3mm so they do exist)

So where can I get them from as sigma just says find them from other bikes companies in the manual

    Thanks

  2. Sigma kindly got back to me with some info and I have dug out some part numbers and ordered some discs so will post how I get on (went for original Yamaha ones)

34 tooth 2.3mm thick steel discs

For those interested with a slipper or just good for swapping out on a part worn clutch pack to get it in spec when you still have some friction pad life left

  3. Can confirm R1 plates are spot on size for any future people interested.

Swapped out X2 2mm for 2x 2.3mm R1 plates and now running perfect 1.3mm slipper gap

Changed push rod bearing while I was in there

I can now pull and refit clutch in 30-40 mins as an added bonus with all the faffing about
