  1. Went last year and going again this year, best free day out I've ever had.

  2. So ... any tips then?

  3. I go every year as well. It's a good day out.

  4. Thundersprint was fun - I went a couple of years ago. I can't help but approve of any town that's prepared to turn itself over to bikes for the day. Huge variety of different machines, actually being used, and the sound of the parade laps round the town was awesome! I seem to remember we arrived late and ended up parked on a side street somewhere outside a church hall, rather than surrounded by other bikes.

We stayed in a pub called the Bear's Paw, Warmingham (near Sandbach) (The Bear's Paw | Home), about a 25 minute drive from Northwich. Not the cheapest but very nice - recently refurbished boutique style hotel rooms upstairs, proper pub food and real beer downstairs (though the bar might be a little "gentrified" for some tastes).

  5. Well get there early, parking is free but they cone off all the side roads around the town center 8am ish. There's practice in the morning then a lunch break with a fly past of the Battle of Britain memorial flight ( weather permitting ) then the Sprint begins, all lighthearted good fun, walk around the padlock and talk to the riders of all ages, Jim Redman now 80 takes part on his Honda and it sounds undelievable.

  6. Be ready to be in a BIG crush of people. It gets very busy!

  7. Weve been going for the past few years and we will always stay at the premier inn.
Praying to the weather god starts soon :)
