Thundersprint & North Wales

  1. For anyone heading to North Wales over this weekend (and on through to the autumn) please note, the dreaded Heddlu - the North Wales Police - have declared a return to the days of Brunstrom, saying they're out to target motorcyclists, 'for our own good'. See article in this week's MCN - this from the BBC -

Ch Insp Darren Wareing, in charge of the force's Roads Policing Unit, said: "It is not about alienating the motorcycling community - it is about education and enforcement."
He added: "This isn't about catching bikers out, we want them to enjoy the roads, but most of all we want them to ride safely and responsibly.
"Responsible riders are welcome to visit the area and take in the stunning scenery and landscape, but even they face risk of death or serious injury by underestimating the risk posed by fatigue brought on by a combination of driving long distances and concentrating on navigating challenging and unfamiliar routes."
He said police would "continue to target, with a view to prosecution, all those that ride or drive dangerously, at excess speed, overtake on solid white lines or commit any other road traffic offences".

Expect to be stopped for a talking to on the A494, A5104, A5, A470 and the A487. Exhausts and number plates unlikely to escape attention.

    Be warned!

  2. Must be true as its in MCN, I have never had an North wale police trouble (I have just tempted fait)

  3. Never been keen on a place which uses two languages anyway. Keep out of the shithole and they won't have any work to do.

As for Thundersprint, it should never have left Northwich in my opinion. More towns should have done the same, might wake them up to the biking fraternity and bring in some business.

Oh, and it's going to piss it down on Sunday.

  4. Bang on mate!!

  5. I'm guessing you're a glass half empty type of guy .
To everyone else, enjoy the roads and the Thundersprint, well worth it.

  6. The Thundersprint of the past was well worth it, great atmosphere and character, who knows how it will work at Anglesey.
I think i,ll give it a miss until they see sense and return to Northwich.

  7. I moved away from North Wales in the late 90's as it was turning into a awful place to ride, plod would stop you for the sake of it, regardless of what you were doing, I complained but nowt happened of course.
Roads are fantastic, but too many 'born again's' flying through hedges spoiled the fun.....

Bugger, I was gonna go and see my folks on the Duc too, maybe not now, probably get nicked (Termis etc) lol

  14. I didn't understand it either

  15. Just returned.

Great track but the event has lost its sparkle.

I’ve been going to this event for years but not anymore..... Shame as it was always a good kick start to the biking calendar.

  16. From what I've heard from lads who went great track which we know but expensive lack of atmosphere and was far better in Northwich
