Hi, looking for feedback on Tim Blackmore in Bristol. Looking to have the DJ 5 on my sport classic custom mapped soon. cheers
He did a nice thorough job on the PC3 on my 748 a few years ago. Separate maps for each cylinder. Nice man, as well.
I used Tim quite a lot on our race bikes and he's good. He's a decent guy too. I find it easier now though to use CJS as they are at Louigi Moto's location, so I can fiddle with the setup if adjustment needs making between runs, as I did when I set up my 900SS recently. Chris is a straight guy and won't rip you off either.
I used Tim a few years ago to set up my old Ducati 749s with a dynojet programme which he is approved to do by Dynojet. He did the much better custom set up which takes a bit longer but is better in the long run. I have also used Chris to flash an ecu with no problems. There both very good and are located in different sides of Bristol. I don't think you will go wrong which ever one you use.
Had my bike dyno'd by Tim some years ago, actually it was organised by CJS as he did the headwork but before he had his dyno. Did a good job on the PC3 and the bike ran well afterwards although I have since removed the PC3 and had it mapped directly by CJS which is a better way of doing it but if you're running a PC then Tim knows his stuff.
Had Tim set my pc3 on my 1037 and it made good power, throttle response wasnt great though, especially going from closed throttle to just coming on, which is where you want most control really. I went to CJS after a few unenjoyable track days. They binned the PC3, programmed the ECU and yeah, i lost a couple of horses at peak, which could be down to weather, different dynos, alsorts really. But most importantly was how smooth the throttle response was. Made me much safer, smoother and faster.
