Sorry all I’m new to Ducati so I’ll be asking daft questions from time to time but anyway can set the time on my Diavel no problem but however next day times after going back to 00:00 is this a sign I need a new battery? Sorry and thanks
Yea I think so anyway. Time stays ok until bikes powered off. Maybe I’m doing something wrong. I’ll give it another go tomorrow
If you lose the time on your dash when you try to start the bike, then I would say it's time for a new battery but if you lose the time you've just set when you switch off, sounds like you're failing to save the setting somehow.
I’ll try later when I get home. I’ve just got the bike last week and the last owner only put up 1k in a year and a half so I’m sure the batters near the end of its life from lack of use. Bikes spend more time plugged in than on the road
The only way the clock will revert to zero is when the supply voltage to it drops too low. That's not going to happen overnight especially when the battery will still start the bike. The permanent 12V supply to the dash is fused, if that was blown the clock would reset to zero when the bike gets turned off but if it was blown I think you would notice other things not working properly, like probably the indicators, horn and headlight since they all get power from the dash. it depends whether it uses the ignition switched "key sense" input or the permanent VBatt input to supply these functions. I guess it is worth checking the fuse anyway. It is fuse No. 5 (10A) in the rear left fusebox.
