I’m thinking of selling my 800 Scrambler, I bought it new and it’s been faultless, I’ve got a few other bikes though and I’ve found myself using the Scrambler less and less, I’m going to take her out for a ride tomorrow and make up my mind for definite, I’ve just put the original cast wheels back on and put the spoked wheels on eBay, if I do decide to sell the bike I’ll return it completely to standard (handlebars, seat, exhaust, tank side panels), but I’m already thinking after tomorrow’s ride I’ll probably change my mind and keep her!
Ha, feels a bit like that, I’m really not good at selling bikes, always regret it a few days after they’ve gone, that’s why my garage is rammed at the moment, maybe I just need a bigger garage!.

I put the original bars on before going out last night (I’ve had flat bars on for the last 3 years), jeez they are higher than I remember, I felt like Dennis Hopper in easy rider , conversely I’ve just come out on my Thruxton which has dropped bars but has never felt too low, first couple of miles this morning it felt like I was doing a handstand!
It was purely the looks that made me buy it XH, I thought “I don’t care what it rides like I love the looks so I’m buying it”, I got a very pleasant surprise when I rode it though, rides beautifully, very torquey (112Nm), lovely syncopated exhaust note (270 crank), hard to fault it really, I’d definitely recommend going to a Triumph dealer and taking one of these out for a test ride.
I'll do when i get the opportunity one day, but i'd ride this baby back in day as a friend owned it and there was always swaps on the menu.
Yes it’s the 1200 Bonneville engine Jez but with a lightened crank, torque assist slipper clutch, injection, 3 ride modes, quite a few times now I’ve had some old dodderer telling me it’s the same as the one he had in the 50’s, erm, no it isn’t
